BAG, Daylightbulb, Go Sing
August 30 @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm
This event features 3 acts exploring sound, noise, music and the interplay with voice and lyrics….
BAG
“Theirs is a world where music and language seem precariously tied together, emerging in a lyrical call and response to create something as bewildering as it is lucid. It triggers a unique effect for the listener. Never didactic, BAG’s music feels like an invitation to join them in charting the contours of a world constantly in flux.” Daryl Worthington (The Quietus)
This will be the act’s first performance as a 3 piece with Angèle David Guillou.
Daylightbulb
Daylightbulb is the noise-punk band of Nathan Greywater (base), Tom Spurling (framework) and Iris Colomb (spokesperson). Together, they combine improvised bass and drums with absurdist cut-up sprechstimme vocals to confront a NEAR AND LUMINOUS FUTURE in which NOTHING GOOD HAPPENS. Warped textures and restless beats contract and collapse, fueled by distorted slogans and impossible imperatives. This project was sparked by the explosive spontaneity of Skronk, Rick Jensen’s legendary free-improvisation sessions.
Go Sing
Go Sing gathers artists laur rozier and ada egg koskiluoma. in their sound, texts and performances they explore a landscape of love, rivalry and companionship.
Their minimalist opera the way you saw me is guided by voices that appear as instrumental texture, an incantation with intertwining narratives. space and bodies thrown off balance, grow into a meditation on dramatic scrolling and the life of others. never quite in reach but so close.
